  1. READING DOCUMENTS USING ADOBE ACROBAT READER
  2. ============================================

  4. This documentation directory contains the following 
  5. Adobe Acrobat pdf files and direcotries,
  6.  
  7. a. ref_gd.pdf: dsm reference guide 
  8. b. user_gd.pdf: dsm user guide 
  9. c. relnotes.doc, relnotes.pdf: release notes
  10.  
  11. If you already have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your system,
  12. bring it up and go to step 4. Otherwise do the following:
  13.  
  14. 1. Make a local installation directory for the document reader 
  15.    on your hard dirve. e.g.  "mkdir /localdir"
  16.  
  17. 2. Copy the adobe directory to your local directory.
  18.  
  19. 3. Type in "bin/acroread" from the local install directory, hit 
  20.    return and the Acrobat Reader window will appear.
  21.  
  22. 4. Select Open from the File menu on Acrobat Reader window.
  23.  
  24. 5. Type in the path of this documentation directory e.g. "/cdrom/doc".
  25.    Click Open.
  26.  
  27. 6. Select a .pdf file e.g. "ref_gd" or "user_gd". Click Open.

  29. Note: For Windows Adobe Acrobat Reader, downlaod free from the net at:
  30. http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html
